AP Student Dies Abroad

Yet another report of a student from Andhra Pradesh losing his life on foreign soil has surfaced. In the latest tragedy, a PhD student from Bapatla in Guntur district drowned when he went for a swim.

The student has been identified as Shashi Shekar, and was a student of the University Of Vermont.

According to Shashi Shekar’s father Ravindranath, who is a professor at an engineering college in Bapatla, the student had gone to a beach along with his friends for a swim. His friends conveyed the tragic news to Prof. Ravindranath.

Efforts are on to bring Shashi Shekar’s body to Andhra Pradesh by June 12.
