The police headquarters has warned its officials against violating the "Model Code of Conduct" in the ensuing Panchayat elections.
"It has come to the notice that certain police officers are violating the Model Code of Conduct at field level. Which is why the State Election Commission has decided to take a serious view of this matter," said a press release issued by the state police spokesperson.
?Hence, all the officers in the field are warned that those who violate the Model Code of Conduct will be not only removed from their area of working, but severe action will be taken against them, apart from debarring them from occupying field posts in future,? the ADG (L&O) warned. (INN)
