SC Categorization: Malas Blame Naidu

Mala Mahanadu state president R S Ratnakar on Friday targeted the Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for his inaction in opposing the categorization of Scheduled castes in the state.

Addressing the 'Malala Polikeka' being organized by Mala Mahanadu at the Anand Bharathi Grounds in Kakinada in East Godavari district on Friday, Ratnakar said that if Naidu and other Left party leaders had taken active steps, the situation would not have come to such a level.

Stating the categorization move as "unwarranted", Ratnakar urged the Centre to study the Usha Mehra Committee report and arrive at a decision.

With the categorization of SCs, the Madiga community would lose employment and educational opportunities, he pointed out.

He also blamed Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi for extending support for the categorization of SCs Bill without knowing the contents.

Three lakh persons belonging to the Mala community turned up for the meeting from the nook and corner of the state to voice their protest, and to safeguard their interests and self-respect.

All local MLAs, MPs, ZPTC and MPTC members have extended their solidarity to the convention.
