Senior police officer A B Venkateswara Rao was given a posting by the AP government on the last day of his service.
He was given the post of DGP (Printing and Stationery).
Rao reached the printing press in Vijayawada today and took over as the DGP. However, since it was also his last day in service, it was his only day in the position.
Speaking to media persons after taking charge as the DGP, he said that irrespective of the experiences that he went through, all ended well.
He said that he would not make any political comments as he was still a government servant.
He also said that he was thanking all those who supported him during his troubling times.
"I am grateful to my friends and well-wishers who have stood by me for so long and gave me courage. Thank you to my family members and friends. Retiring with a uniform is a dream come true for me," he said.
