Amidst speculations, another BRS MLA, of the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency, Prakash Goud, today paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence.
However, the interaction of the MLA assumes signifance amidst rumours that some MLAs are set to join the ruling Congress.
Last week, on January 23, four BRS MLAs, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy (Narsapur), Kotha Prabhakar Reddy (Dubbaka), Gudem Mahipal Reddy (Patancheru) and Manik Rao (Zaheerabad) had also called on the CM.
While the opposition MLAs claimed that their visit was focused on development issues, some BRS MLAs said to be are preparing the ground to leave the party and staying in regular touch with the CM.
With 64 MLAs, the Congress currently holds a slender majority of just four MLAs in the Assembly, and its leaders are said to be working to increase it by engineering defections, as also strengthen its hand ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Speculation is rife that the Congress is in touch with over 15 BRS MLAs, trying to lure at least some of them into its fold ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
