Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, politics in Telangana are taking new turns by the day.
While the process of nominations for the Lok Sabha elections is continuing on one hand, the jumping of leaders is also continuing on the other.
Freshly, another BRS MLA Prakash Goud, who represents the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency, has decided to join the Congress.
Goud called on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence today and reportedly expressed his desire to join the ruling Congress.
During the meeting, Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy was also present.
Three BRS MLAs - Tellam Venkat Rao (Bhadrachalam), Danam Nagender (Khairatabad) and Kadiyam Srihari (Station Ghanpur) - have already quit the party and joined the Congress. With Goud too deciding to join the Congress, the BRS has received another jolt, in Rangareddy district.
Meanwhile, former MP and BJP leader D Ravindra Naik too joined the Congress today in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Naik had been an MLA twice in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, and an MP from Warangal in 2004. On behalf of the BJP, he contested the Assembly elections from Yellandu constituency in 2023, but had lost the elections.
Naik alleged that the BJP leadership was neglecting the formation of the Banjara Commission and was failing to take steps for the development of the Lambadi community.
"Even though I am a senior Lambadi leader in the BJP, the party leadership is not consulting me in any matter," he said.
