The state government has reportedly directed the police to file cases against him for his book "Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu" against the Arya-Vysya community.
TDP Rajya Sabha member T G Venkatesh said that the Andhra Pradesh government had directed the police to file cases against Kancha Ilaiah for his book titled "Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu" against the Arya-Vysya community.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Venkatesh said that Ilaiah had written the book primarily to target the Arya-Vysya community. He said that he was urging Ilaiah not to create differences between castes and religions, and warned him that the AP government would ban the book if the author failed to change the words.
Sri Peetham Peethadhipathi Paripurnananda Swamy, too, lashed out at Ilaiah for the book. He said that the Vysyas did business in a law-abiding fashion and also performed lots of philanthropic service by spending 10% of their earnings, and that it was highly improper for Ilaiah to call them smugglers.
Ilaiah had lost his mental balance after changing his religion, Paripurnananda Swamy said. He also pointed out how Ilaiah never uttered anything against MNCs or corporates, saying that Ilaiah was primarily earning money while deceiving dalits by calling himself a dalit.
He warned Ilaiah that his story would reach Kanchi if he touched Hinduism. Ilaiah was hurting the nation's security, he said, and asked the state and central governments to open their eyes to, and interrogate, Ilaiah and the persons behind him at least now.
