AP High Court Asks Government Not To Shift Any Offices
The AP High Court asked the state government not to shift any of the government offices till the disposal of the petitions on the three capitals issue.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday took up the hearing on the issue of the formation of three capitals for the state and the abolition of the CRDA Act.
Chief Justice J K Maheswari asked the Advocate General Sriram Subramanyam about the status of the two related bills. The AG told the Chief Justice that the two bills had been approved by the state Assembly, and that they had been sent for the approval of the legislative Council.
Upon hearing this, the Chief Justice told the petitioners that he was of the opinion that no inquiry should be done by the HC on the issue. The counsel for the petitioners Ashok Bhan then told the HC that such a decision would prompt the state government to shift all its offices to the proposed new capitals of the state. Responding to this, the Chief Justice asked the state government not to shift any of the government offices till the disposal of the petitions.
The HC then adjourned the hearing of the case to February 26, 2020.
