Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu On Thursday called upon both the Centre and the state governments to be alert over the
super-cyclone threat issued by the Meteorological Department on Wednesday.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP chief demanded that the government should set up more relief camps to meet any kind of eventuality.
Naidu demanded that the government provide immediate relief to those farmers whose farm lands had been submerged in the recent rains. The former chief minister also asked agriculture officials to properly estimate the crop loss in the flood-affected districts.
He blamed the Central team members for not visiting flood-affected villages. He said that they had left the flood-affected areas after taking a cursory look, without even attempting to understand the problems being faced by the farmers and people.
Naidu said the TDP would extend its unreserved cooperation to the state government in the relief works taken up by government officials in the districts.
The TDP chief called on his party workers to participate in the relief and rescue operations on a large scale in the flood-hit districts.
The former chief minister also called on the leaders of all political parties to rise above politics and instruct their party cadre to plunge into the relief works. Naidu stated that this was not the time to think about political difference, but to think only about the welfare of the people.
