AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today asked the employees of the State government to shift to the new capital Amaravathi before June 27.
Speaking to the media after releasing the EAMCET results at Vijayawada, Naidu said that he himself had been stationed mostly at Vijayawada for several months now, though his wife was still at Hyderabad.
"My wife has not come to Vijayawada - she is staying in Hyderabad because of business, and coming to Vijayawada only occasionally. But I am based here and working constantly, since the State needs that. I have no time to spend even with my grandson. We all have to bear some problems for the sake of the welfare of the people of our State," he said, and asked all the State government employees to quickly come to Amaravathi.
He said that it would take two years to complete the construction of the new capital. However, more funds would be sanctioned for the temporary Secretariat so that the buildings can be used in future for other purposes after Amaravathi got ready.
Naidu also said that drought and cyclone had become recurring problems for Andhra Pradesh.
