Law Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy said that the people of Seemandhra are ready to face any kind of consequence, rather than accepting the division of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Erasu said that the bifurcation of the state is not acceptable under any circumstance.
He claimed that a majority of people in all the regions are against the division, and that they would be hurt if the state is divided.
Stating that the Seemandhra MPs have played a major role in the formation of Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA), he asked as to why the Centre is treating the region and its people "like an enemy", and not taking its opinion into consideration.
Erasu accused the Centre of acting in haste in relation to the formation of Telangana, and advised it stop the process immediately, in the interest of Telugu people. (INN)
