The State Legislative Assembly was adjourned, without transacting any business, for the
second consecutive day on Thursday.
As soon as the House met, the opposition parties gave adjournment notices on different issues, which were disallowed by Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar. Following an uproar created by the opposition members insisting on discussions on the issues raised by them, the Speaker adjourned the House for half-an-hour, at about 9:10am.
Similar scenes were witnessed when the House re-assembled at about 10:16am. The TRS members went near the Speaker's podium, and resorted to slogan-shouting.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy slammed the behaviour of the opposition parties, and alleged that they were not honouring the commitment that they had given during the business advisory committee meetings.
The Finance minister made a controversial remark against the opposition parties, which was later expunged from the records, by the Speaker, as it was unparliamentary.
Another uproar was caused over Anam's remarks, following which the House was again adjourned for half-an-hour, at about 10:27am.
However, normalcy could not be restored when the House re-assembled at about 12:36pm. The TRS members continued their protest, demanding Telanganaa resolution in the House. With no signs of normalcy returning to the House, the Speaker was forced to adjourn the House for the day. (INN)
