Immediate Relief For Flood Victims
The Chief Minister reviewed the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh and ordered immediately supply 20 kg of rice and 5 litres of kerosene to flood victims.
Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Thursday directed the district administration and police to take up relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas in East Godavari district on war footing.
The Chief Minister, who arrived in the district to conduct an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas in the region, reviewed the grim situation with the district collector and revenue officials at Ambedkar Bhavan over the damage caused.
Rosaiah directed the officials to immediately supply 20 kg of rice and 5 litres of kerosene to flood victims. He also directed the agriculture officials to estimate the damage caused to crops and send a report to him.
The Chief Minister said that the government would make efforts to purchase discoloured rice from farmers through Food Corporation Of India.
Meanwhile, Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar, along with Municipal Commissioner GSN Murthy, visited the flood-affected areas in Pratap Nagar, old bus stand and Jagannaickpur, and distributed food packets to the victims.
Similarly, Lok Satta Party, Satya Sai Seva Samithi, and other voluntary organizations came forward to supply food packets and take up relief works in Kakinada.
