Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud today came down heavily on BRS president and opposition leader K Chandrashekar Rao for "taking rest in his farmerhouse" while the people of Telangana were suffering from the floods.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Goud said that Telangana had suffered huge losses due to the heavy rains, and that crops cultivated in hundreds of acres were damaged.
"At this time of crisis, the Telangana people thought that K Chandrashekar Rao would play an active role as a responsible opposition leader and give suggestions to the State government on handling the damage. But he is confined to his farmhouse and is least bothered about the people's problems," he said.
The Congress MLC also said that BRS working president K T Rama Rao was spreading malicious propaganda on the social media against the State government while relaxing in England.
"KTR is on vacation in England, but is tweeting on the social media against the State government, forgetting his social responsibility as the leader of the principal opposition party," he claimed.
