Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) MD N V S Reddy and L&T MRHL MD K V B Reddy conducted a review meeting on the progress of the finishing works and the results of the various tests and trial runs of the 10-km stretch of the Hyderabad Metro between Ameerpet and Hitec City, at Metro Rail Bhavan, Begumpet, on Friday.
After finding the results of the safety tests and trial runs satisfactory, N V S Reddy advised L&T MRHL to get the necessary safety certification from the French company M/s Thales, which provided the CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) technology for the Hyderabad Metro, and from the Internal Safety Assessor M/s Halcrow.
He further instructed the L&T MRHL engineers to complete all the necessary documentation and immediately submit it to the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for his mandatory safety inspection of the section to be done before authorizing its opening for passenger operations in the next few weeks.
After the safety clearance of the section by the CMRS, the Chief Minister's office will be approached for fixing an inaugural date, he added.
HMRL Chief Electrical Engineer D V S Raju, Chief Engineer Pancham, Chief Project Manager B Anand Mohan, Superintending Engineer M Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and GM (Works) B N Rajeswar, L&T MRHL Project Director M P Naidu, and other senior engineers of HMRL and L&T MRHL participated in the meeting.
