Polling for six MLC seats under the local bodies' constituencies quota will be held in the Ranga Reddy, Mahabubanagar, Nalgonda and Khammam districts on December 27, according to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat this evening, Bhanwar Lal said that live video web casting would be done during the voting from 8 am to 4 pm.
For the two seats each in Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar, five candidates are in the fray for each, while for one seat in Nalgonda four are in the fray and for one seat in Khammam five candidates are contesting.
Stating that all arrangements had been made, the CEO said that 3,869 voters would exercise their franchise in 119 polling stations.
The EC has given permission to 145 companions to the electors, who have to offer their first priority vote and the remaining four votes in a single ballot.
Appealing to the leaders not to carry cell phones and cameras, Bhanwar Lal said that campaigning in a 100-meter radius was not allowed, and that violators of the election code of conduct would be dealt with seriously. Flexes have been put up at polling stations on the dos and don'ts for the voting.
The results will be declared on December 30.
