Former Andhra Pradesh tourism minister Bhuma Akhila Priya's husband Bhargav Ram, who, alongside his wife, had been named as
one of the prime suspects in the
sensational Bowenpally kidnapping of former national-level badminton player Praveen Rao, and his brothers Sunil Rao and Naveen Rao, earlier this year, is in the headlines again.
This time, it is for having submitted fake Covid-19 certificates to avoid attending a hearing of the kidnapping case. Priya's brother Jagat Vikhyath Reddy too has been accused of doing the same.
The Bowenpally police have registered cases against both men for attempting to use fake medical certificates to skip a court hearing.
The police have revealed that the two had submitted fake certificates showing that they had tested positive for Covid-19 to the court on July 1 and had used the same to miss the hearing that took place on July 3.
After the incident came to light, the police investigated the hospital that had issued the certificates. During the ensuing enquiries, the hospital authorities finally admitted to having issued certificates with false information. A case has been registered against hospital employees Vinay, Ratnakar and Sridevi for providing the certificates to Bhargav Ram and Vikhyath Reddy.
