The Nirmal police on Monday completed the third day of questioning of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the alleged hate speech case.
According to sources, Akbaruddin Owaisi was questioned in the presence of his lawyers, at the Armed Reserved Headquarters.
Utnoor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ambarkishore Jha, Nirmal Rural inspector A Raghu and Bellampalli Deputy Superintendent of Police M Ravinder Reddy quizzed the MIM leader about several issues related to his alleged hate speech.
However, he reportedly fell sick during the questioning, and a team of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences conducted his medical check-up.
Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was arrested in Hyderabad on January 8 by the Nirmal police, has been granted 5-day police custody by a court in Nirmal for further questioning into the case registered against him for allegedly delivering provocative speech last month. Akbar's police custody will come to an end on Wednesday evening. (INN)
