Advocate Found Dead In City; Had Opposed YSRCP
Ravikarn, who had challenged the election of a YSR Congress Party legislator in the High Court, was found dead in his house under mysterious circumstances.
An advocate, who had challenged the election of the YSR Congress Party legislator from Nandikotkuru in the High Court, was found dead in his house at Srinagar Colony under mysterious circumstances.
Ravikiran, a native of Nandikotkuru, had been living mostly in the city since one year after his marriage. He had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 elections from Nandikotkuru as an independent candidate. The YSRCP nominee Aizaiah was elected in the elections.
However, Ravikiran challenged the election of Aizaiah in the High Court on the ground that Aizaiah had made a false representation that he was from the SC community and had filed his nomination from the reserved constituency.
The case is still pending in the court.
Relatives of the advocate were stated to have been informed about his death on Friday night. His body was stated to have been found in a pool of blood. The relatives claimed that Ravikiran would not have committed suicide as he did not have any problem or issues. As a matter of fact, the advocate was stated to have even filed complaints with the police at Nandikotkuru as well as in Hyderabad claiming threats to his life.
The police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.
