Acclaimed farmer from Taramatipet of Abdullahpurmet mandal Nagaratnam Naidu today claimed that he was facing a threat to his life from the Sarpanch of the village.
Naidu alleged that the Sarpanch, Mahesh, and his brother Anjaiah were threatening to kill him if he did not hand over his land to them, and take over his land after that.
Addressing the media, Naidu, who achieved popularity for his organic farming, said that he had 17.12 acres of land in the village, and that Mahesh was trying to forcibly take his land as the land rates had gone up in the village.
He also said that Mahesh had constructed a wall around his land, and that he was not being allowed to demolish the wall to go into his land.
He added that a land grabber named Srinivas Goud was also supporting the sarpanch and his brother.
He also claimed that the Sarpanch was carrying out the threats against him with the tacit support of the local revenue department officials.
Naidu urged the State government to take action against Mahesh, Anjaiah and Goud.
Naidu had received praises from world leaders including George Bush for his organic farming.
