The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted raids on the residences of Kukatpally Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjeeva Rao and has found illegal assets worth over Rs 2 crores so far.
The ACB conducted raids at six places belonging to Sanjeeva Rao simultaneously, including his Kukatpally office and his houses at Alwal, Warangal and Karimnagar. The sleuths found 75 tolas of gold; cash of Rs 3.29 lakhs; and documents showing ownership of a shopping complex, two houses at IT colony, a farmhouse at Shamirpet, a 30-acre plot of land at Toopran and 10 acres of land each at Mulug and Ramannapet.
The ACB officers also found Rao owning assets in benami names at Vasavi Colony in the Secunderabad Cantonment area. They also seized bank passbooks and documents of assets from his residence at Dammannapet.
ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police P Sunitha said Rao's bank lockers would be opened on Monday. So far, the ACB had identified properties worth over Rs 2 crores belonging to the ACP, she said.
