Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids on the residence of the Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation Limited (APHCL) Executive Engineer (Kakinada), and unearthed property worth Rs. 1 crore.
According to ACB inspector Ramakrishna, ACB officials unearthed property worth Rs. 35 lakh from the residence of the APHCL EE, Badri Tara Chand.
Assets that were discovered include 2 buildings - one each at Srikakulam and East Godavari - fixed deposits of Rs. 10 lakh, net cash of Rs. 2 lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs. 4 lakh, and other articles worth Rs. 25,000.
The market value of the seized assets was estimated to be worth more than Rs. 1 crore.
Simultaneous raids were also conducted on the residences of his colleagues D E Narasimha, assistant manager Suresh and other relatives at Srikakulam, Amadalavalasa, Kakinada and other places.
Earlier, Badri Tara Chandra was caught by ACB officials while accepting a bribe from a person for doing an official favour.
