9 Dead In Fire Accident, 7 From Same Family
Nine persons died and eight were seriously injured in a fire accident at Nampally. NDRF and GHMC personnel are engaged in rescue operations.

Nine persons died and eight were seriously injured when a fire broke out in Balaji Residency located at Bazaar Ghat, Nampally, this morning.
Tahura Farheen, a BDS doctor, had come along with her three children Talha (18), Taroba (13) and Manha (6) to visit her parents Md Azam (54) and Rehman Sultana (50), on Sunday. Her younger brother Hasib-ur-Rahman (32) and sister Faiza Sameena (26) were living with the parents. All of them were perished in fire except Talha, who is 90% burnt and in critical condition.
The other two deceased were identified as a couple, retired doctor Md Jakeer Hussain (66) and his wife, teacher Nikath Sultana (55).
The injured are being treated at Osmania Hospital.
NDRF and GHMC personnel are continuing rescue operations at the site.
According to the police, the fire broke out while a car was being repaired in a garage on the ground floor of the building. The fire spread soon, and some chemical drums stored in the cellar also caught fire, resulting in thick smoke and a subsequent huge fire. The residents of the apartment and several workers were trapped in that fire.
Ramesh Jaiswal, the apartment owner who has many chemical factories in the city, is said to be in a hospital after complaining of a heart problem after getting to know of the fire.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed shock at the fire mishap and extended condolences to the families of the victims. He directed the officials to provide the best possible treatment to the injured, and also to constantly monitor their conditions and take immediate measures for their speedy recovery.
Ministers K T Rama Rao and Talasani Srinivas, union minister and BJP Telangana president G Kishan Reddy, and others inspected the site and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
