The railway police today seized 8 kgs of cannabis in the Secunderabad railway station.

The banned drug was found in the Konark Express.

The police also arrested six persons allegedly transporting the cannabis.

The police said that the accused were transporting the illegal intoxicant to Odisha and Mumbai from the Vizag agency areas.

In another development, the railway police also arrested two accused of bag lifting.

The accused used to open the bags of passengers in trains and decamp with gold and other valuable ornaments.

The police seized 12 kgs of gold ornaments, Rs 1 lakh cash and three cell phones from the accused.
