Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed officials to arrange for a supply of 7 hours of power by increasing one hour from the existing 6-hour supply to agricultural connections in the state.
This decision was taken because the production of coal in Singareni Collieries has been observed to have come back to normalcy.
In a review meeting, officials said that possibilities to supply 7 hours power to agricultural connections are being worked out.
They told the CM that Singareni Collieries has recorded the highest production for the first time after the strike started on 13 September, and that it has dispatched 86,000 metric tonnes of coal.
Normally, the thermal stations in the State require 90,000 to 1 lakh metric tonnes daily.
The CM also directed that the results of the Group-II examinations conducted by the APPSC be declared by the end of December 2011.
It may be recalled that the APPSC had earlier stated that the results will be announced by February 2012. (INN)
