Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday approved the sanction of Rs. 50 crore to three veterinary colleges.
The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs. 50 crores towards facilities and buildings to the 3 veterinary colleges ? in Gannavaram, Korutla and Proddutur - to develop themselves according to the norms of the Veterinary Council Of India.
Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed specific issues of the Veterinary University this afternoon, at Secretariat.
Minister for Animal Husbandry P Viswaroop, Principal Secretary (Animal Husbandry) Dr. Manmohan Singh, Director (Animal Husbandry) Venkateswarlu, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister N Sridhar and the Vice Chancellor of the University attended the review meeting.
The CM agreed to fill vacancies to the 104 teaching and non-teaching posts in these three colleges by alternative arrangements. He also agreed to fill 386 teaching posts.
The CM has asked officials to convene a high-level meeting with the senior officials of the departments of Animal Husbandry, Rural Development and Finance, to review the progress of the "State Milk Mission" in the next week.
He asked them to work out in detail the issue in view of the SC-ST Sub-Plan, and the enhancement of the BC Welfare department's budget. He expressed confidence that the Milk Mission would double the income of its beneficiaries within 2-3 years. (INN)
