Municipal and IT minister K T Rama Rao today inaugurated a Basthi Dawakhana at Ramareddy Nagar in Habsiguda with GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, as part of
25 such healthcare centres being started in the city today.
The minister said that these hospitals were aimed at providing good and immediate healthcare services to the poor of the neighbouring areas, and would be stocked with all the most frequently needed medicines and injections.
Health Minister Etala Rajender and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav likewise inaugurated Basthi Dawakhanas in the Gandhinagar and Ramgopalpet areas.
In all, a total of 25 new Basthi Dawakhanas were inaugurated in the city. These hospitals will offer healthcare services to 2,000 more patients a day in addition to the 14,000 patients being served by the other existing Basthi Dawakhanas, Yadav said.
18 of the new Basthi Dawakhanas have come up in Hyderabad, 6 in Medchal and 2 in Ranga Reddy districts.
