Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has taken a decision to implement a new scheme titled "Grama Jyothi" for rural development, as per informed sources.
KCR is learnt to have taken a decision to spend huge funds under this umbrella for the speedy development of villages.
This particular decision for rural development took birth in a review meeting with officials held by Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao.
The scheme is likely to be announced on August 15, and will be implemented only after an official announcement by KCR.
A whopping Rs. 25,000 crores will be spent under the scheme for all-round rural development, over five years.
The Chief Minister is planning to conduct a district Collectors' conference on July 30 in order to prepare a comprehensive plan of action.
Based on the population of the major gram panchayats and villages, the government will release Rs. 2-6 crores for each for the taking up of works related to basic amenities and a better connectivity.
Thus, the villages are most likely to get a boost in terms of water and power supply, education, health, better roads and other facilities.
