Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today emphasized the need for designing college curriculum and syllabi based on the needs of the Industry to bridge the skill gap.
In a meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister asked Vice-Chancellors and other heads of institutions to prepare students to excel in as many fields as possible.
Srihari said, "As part of the Golden Telangana drive, we must try to make changes in syllabi and courses in accordance with the Market demands."
He also said that the TRS government was revamping the education sector that was affected by the policies of the previous government.
The Deputy CM remarked that the State government was adopting changes in the Education system that would cater to the growing demands of markets and industries.
The State government had come up with a plan to open up large numbers of 'Gurukul' schools and colleges to provide quality education to the poor and deprived classes in the State. 240 Gurukuls had already been established in the State.
He promised that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao released funds for opening up 254 additional Gurukul schools and would launch 210 more such institutions next year.
