The fare of these buses would be Rs. 1.50 per kilometre, and they will operate with a 30-minute frquency.
The State Road Transport Corporation, on Thursday, launched 22 Sheetal Air-Conditioned buses on 4 routes to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.
Talking to reporters after the launch, RTC Managing Director B Prasada Rao said that the Sheetal buses would provide an affordable and comfortable journey to the passengers travelling to or from the international airport. The fare of these buses would be Rs. 1.50 per kilometre.
Prasada Rao said that these 22 buses would be in addition to the 12 buses being operated on 4 routes from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to the airport. Of them, 10 buses are Semi Low Floor (Metro Express), and the remaining 2 are Low Floor (Metro Deluxe).
The new buses will ply on Route No. 901/251, between Secunderabad Station and airport via Tarnaka, Uppal crossroads, L B Nagar crossroads, Gayathrinagar crossroads, Pisalbanda, Keshavagiri, Bandlaguda and Aramghar crossroads.
Every day, 6 buses will make 48 single trips, with a frequency of 30 minutes.
Similarly, on Route No. 49 M / 251, between Secunderabad Station and the airport, 6 buses will make 48 single trips, via Police Lines, Punjagutta, Banjara Hills Road No. 7, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam, Hyderguda and Aramghar crossroads.
On Route No. 200, between KPHB IV phase to the airport, 5 buses will make 60 single trips, via Malaysian Township, KPHB 3rd Phase, JNTU, Miyapur crossroads, Allwyn crossroads, Kothaguda crossroads, Gachibowli and Outer Ring Road.
Likewise, on Route No. 6/251, between VST and airport, 5 buses will make 60 trips, via Barkatpura, Baghlingampally, Narayanaguda, Lakdikapul, Masab Tank, PVNR Express Way and Aramghar crossroads. (INN)
