Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday charged Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of hiding behind the Babli issue since he lacks the courage to face the electorate of the 12 assembly constituencies going to polls in the Telangana region.
Talking to media persons at the secretariat, Rosaiah accused the TDP chief of 'dramatising' the Babli project issue. He said that he had given an assurance on the floor of the House that he would lead an all-party meeting to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the Babli issue. He said that Naidu knows that the issue is sensitive, and that he also knows that it should be handled in a diplomatic manner.
Rosaiah said Naidu tried to take advantage of the by-elections to raise the TDP's lost popularity among the people of the state by dramatising the issue.
He sought to remind Naidu that the entire cabinet had spoken in a single voice to condemn the treatment meted out to him and his team.
The Chief Minister also criticised Naidu for claiming that the women legislators in his team were abused by the Maharashtra police. He reminded the TDP chief that during his reign as chief minister, he had ordered mounted police to crush the Anganwadi workers and helpers who demanded an increase in pay scales. He wondered if Naidu had forgotten that those protestors were women and that even their clothes had been torn during the scuffle which had followed the police action.
Rosiah..first get elected by people before making such remarks. CBN is far better than congress leaders like VH,DS or KCR(Who claim to care for Telangana).
