Govt. Toils For Telangana: Lagadapati

Lagadapati speaks to the media on the 5th day of his fast.
Hyderabad | 18th December 2009
Lagadapati Rajagopal, while addressing the media at Vijayawada this afternoon, expressed anguish at the call for separate statehood for Telangana, despite the government having carried out various initiatives for the development of the region.

He cited examples of educational aid to students, irrigation projects, aid to the handicapped, and other programs that were implemented for the Telangana area.

He stressed the need for a united state of Andhra Pradesh, and said that the agitation for Samaikya Andhra was people-driven and not politician-driven.

The Congress leader might be taken to the hospital by the police shortly, sources say.

And at Secretariat, TRS politicians are beating their chests over how Telangana has been ill-treated by the rest of Andhra Pradesh. Padma Devender Reddy is on her way to request the CM to revoke cases made on JAC leaders.

Rajagopal's interest is in LANCO & realestate. These are parasites nothing more than that. They came over to hyderabad to eke out a living and to escape from the horrible climatic conditions of Coastal andhra. They just got "settled" here and are in no mood to accept the reality that all those who are born/living in telangana region are "telanganites". What identity do they have other than high handedness ?

Mr. Rajgopal - what exactly are these "initiatives" that were bestowed on us Telangana people? What currently working irrigation projects are you referring to? Hyderabadi's have been digging well into core of the earth for water. Do you have any alternative than usurping water from Medak district? Can you put the money spent in perspective for us by giving the amount of money you and your cronies in Government make from Government contracts and mining contracts? AP is Rs75,000 crores in debt.
What development are you talking about? Hyderabadis/Telanganites have to compete for seats in same pool as anyone migrating to city - how many are migrating from Hyderabad to Andhra - Has there been any increase in Government spending to offset the demographic change? Why is the original Hyderabad suffering and Greater Hyderabad shining? Why force us to merge with a gun to our head?
