TJS Vice-President Quits, Slams Kodandaram & Front

Hyderabad | 2nd December 2018
The Telangana Jana Samithi of M Kodandaram, a constituent of the Praja Kutami (the alliance of opposition parties of Telangana including the Congress, the TDP, the CPI and the TJS), today received a jolt with prominent advocate and the party's Vice-President Rachana Reddy resigning from her post.

Levelling severe allegations against the party founder-president Kodandaram, Reddy said that the professor-turned-politician had entered a secret pact with the Congress, and that the Praja Kutami was in fact a vishapu kutami (poisonous alliance) that was choking the sincere leaders and the cadre of the TJS.

Reddy alleged that dedicated and deserving leaders in the party did not get tickets for the Assembly elections due to the unilateral functioning of Kodandaram. She also said that there was not even an iota of social justice in the party, and pointed out that not a single ticket was given to Muslim leaders of the TJS. She said that Kodandaram was behaving like any other greedy politician, with the cadre of the party suffering gross injustice as a result. The internal feuds in the TJS were known to the people for quite a while now, she claimed.

Reddy said that Kodandaram had originally met BJP national president Amit Shah and bargained for 40 seats, but failed, and then decided to go with the Praja Kutami. Joining the Praja Kutami was a great blunder by the party, she said.

"What has the Praja Kutami done for the people of Telangana, and why will the people vote for it? And no leader in the Praja Kutami has any common sense. TDP president and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu plunging into electioneering in Telangana was a big mistake. The feelings of the people of Telangana about Chandrababu Naidu - that he conspires against Telangana - are well-known. The Congress has also given tickets to parachute candidates, and the kutami is infested with political brokers. And the cadre of the kutami are not at all working," she said.

She also alleged that tickets were being sold like vegetables by the constituents of the Praja Kutami. She said that the kutami would face a humiliating defeat in the elections as it had joined hands with Chandrababu Naidu, and that nobody would even take calls from Kodandaram after the elections.
