Against Huge Publicity, Not 24-Hour Power: Congress
TPCC Kisan Cell chairman Kodanda Reddy alleged that the unlimited power supply notwithstanding, the TRS had failed to solve the problems of the farmers.

TPCC Kisan Cell chairman M Kodanda Reddy called the state government out on the huge publicity being given to the 24x7 power supply program and alleged that such measures notwithstanding, the TRS government had failed to solve the problems of the agricultural sector in the three and half years of its rule.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Reddy said that the Congress was not against the 24-hour power supply, but only against the huge publicity being given to it. Stating that the state government's publicity campaigns claiming that the farmers would be able to reap a good harvest and get great prices due to the initiative were dangerous, he warned that the level of underground water in 9 districts did not look very good, and that the unlimited power supply had the potential to do more harm than good to the agricultural sector.
He also claimed that the TRS was only using the agricultural sector as a vote bank with an eye on the 2019 elections, and that the credit for giving free power supply to the agricultural sector rightfully went to the Congress.
He also said that the farmers were facing losses due to the bad policies of the state. With no minimum support price being given to cotton and corn crops, farmers were "suffering", he claimed.
He also accused the government of pushing farmers into debts due to its failure to waive loans in one go.
