YSRCP To Hold "Samaikya Shankaravam" On Oct 26

Jagan appeals to all leaders, cutting across party affiliations, to join the public meet for a united AP, if they wish to keep the state united.
Hyderabad | 17th October 2013
YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday informed that the "Samaikhya Shankaravam" meeting for a united AP would be held in Hyderabad on October 26.

Addressing a press conference, Jagan affirmed that he would lead the Samaikyandhra movement from the forefront.

He appealed to all leaders, cutting across party affiliations, who want to keep the state united, to join the meeting.

"I also appeal to N Kiran Kumar Reddy and N Chandrababu Naidu to extend support to the meeting," he said.

"When I say Samaikyandhra, I mean all the 3 regions - Telangana, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema," he added.

Jagan also announced that the YSRCP MLAs and leaders would picket CM Kiran Kumar Reddy's office on Friday, demanding the convening of an Assembly session before the draft bill on Telangana comes up.

He informed that earlier in the day, he had submitted a memorandum to Governor E S L Narasimhan, demanding a special Assembly session.

"The CM and Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu should join the fight for a united state, and convene the Assembly to pass a resolution in favour of an integrated state, or else they will earn a place among the traitors in the history of the state politics," he said.

"Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been pulling the strings, and Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu are dancing to Delhi's tunes. Unless they come face-to-face with the reality and honour the mood of the people, they will be considered as characterless people," he added.

"The Congress president is destroying the future of our children with the motive of seeing her son Rahul Gandhi as a Prime Minister, and the state leaders are religiously following her dictates without any concern for the future of the people back home," he accused.

"If the state is divided, the entire region from Kuppam to Srikakulam will turn into a desert, and every youth who will be deprived of a chance to secure a job in Hyderabad will curse Naidu and Kiran Kumar Reddy, if they do not fight for the cause of Samaikyandhra," Reddy warned.

Jagan also said that the YSRCP leaders were serious on quitting the Lok Sabha, and Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and S P Y Reddy would leave for Delhi to mount pressure on the Speaker to accept the resignations. (INN)
