YSRCP MLA's Son In Judicial Custody For Assaulting CI

Samineni Prasad, who was arrested on Monday night on charges of abusing and assaulting a traffic Police Inspector, was remanded to judicial custody today.

Samineni Prasad, son of Jaggayyapeta MLA Samineni Udayabhanu of the YSR Congress Party, and who was arrested on Monday night on charges of abusing and assaulting a traffic Police Inspector, was remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday.

Prasad, who was arrested by the Madhapur police late on Monday night, was produced before the court today and remanded.

The police said that Prasad had entered into an argument with Madhapur Traffic Inspector Rajagopal Reddy regarding a traffic diversion issue and later attacked him while the latter was performing his duty on the Hitec City road in the Madhapur police station limits.

Based on a complaint from Reddy, a case was booked and Prasad was subsequently arrested.
