YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was released from the Chanchalguda Central Jail earlier today, after being in custody for 16 months.
Jagan, who was granted bail by the CBI court on Monday, came out of the prison at about 4pm on Tuesday, after completion of the necessary formalities. Thousands of YSRCP activists assembled outside the Chanchalguda Jail for a glimpse of Jagan. They raised slogans and danced in front of the jail.
Wearing a checked-shirt, Jagan waved at his supporters with his trademark smile.
Jagan's journey from the jail to his residence at Lotus Pond, is a massive procession. Elaborate security arrangements were made, in advance, around the jail premises, and a large number of security personnel have been deployed all along the procession routes.
The YSRCP president received conditional bail from a special CBI court, which directed that he be released on bail on submission of a Rs. 2 lakh personal bond and two sureties of the same amount. The court also asked him not to leave Hyderabad without intimation. (INN)
