TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh today said that the ruling YSRCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy was responsible for the unchecked land grabs and gang violence in Visakhapatnam and other parts of north Andhra.
Lokesh said that gangs supported by CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy were wreaking havoc all through the otherwise peaceful north Andhra districts.
The latest in a long series of incidents was the local YSRCP leaders' attack on the revenue employees of Sattivanipalem village in Pendurti mandal of Vizag district, he said.
Lokesh said that the YSRCP local leader Doddi Kiran had encroached upon some land in the village, and had attacked the revenue staff when they came to remove the encroachment.
He said that the beating up of the revenue staff at Sattivanipalem was highly condemnable, and that the authorities should take immediate action against the guilty.
The TDP leader demanded that Kiran and his followers be arrested immediately for their physical attacks on the employees, and that the government provide the necessary protection to on-duty employees.
Lokesh lamented that the YSRCP goons were behaving as if they had got a patent right on encroachments.
Even village-level leaders were resorting to land grabs and assaults on government employees, he alleged.
Meanwhile, the TDP MLC paid rich tributes to noted Dalit writer Yendluri Sudhakar whose death he said would remain a huge loss for the Telugu language and literature. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members of the writer.
