YSRCP Wants Political Mileage From Polavaram: TDP

TDP MLC Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu today alleged that YSR Congress Party was deliberately creating hurdles in the construction of the national Polavaram project.

Speaking to the media, M Naidu asserted that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was determined to cross all these hurdles and complete the project by 2018. He claimed that the cost of the project had gone up to Rs. 40,000 crores due to the inept handling of the previous YSR government.

If the project were to be completed, 25 lakh acres of land in Rayalaseema would be irrigated, the TDP leader said, and alleged that YSRC leaders didn't want to see it completed for selfish political gains.
