YSRCP MLA Bhuma Karunakar Reddy said that the YSR Congress Party would not allow the Legislative Assembly to function until it passes a resolution to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
Speaking to media persons at the Assembly media point on Friday, Karunakar Reddy said that his party was firm on having a resolution on a united state, and that no other business would be allowed to be taken up in the House till that time. He alleged that the state's bifurcation process was enjoying the backing of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was dividing the state with an eye on votes and seats in the next elections.
Karunakar Reddy said that Seemandhra without Hyderabad would be like a torso without a head, and that therefore, there is no question of accepting the Telangana Bill. He feared that the growth and development of people living in the Seemandhra region would stop if the state is allowed to be divided. (INN)
