The first list of the YSR Congress Party's candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats for the upcoming elections will be announced on March 16 at 10:26 am.
The candidates' list was supposed to be released on Wednesday, but YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had been preoccupied with the new additions to the party.
Jagan held discussions with senior party leaders including V Vijayasai Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Thalasila Raghuram for the selection of the candidates, as also about the election campaign.
Jagan will pay tribute to late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on March 16 and then announce the list of candidates. He has reportedly decided to announce candidates for over half of the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the first list.
After the announcement, Jagan will begin his election campaign with a Bus Yatra.
The campaign will be launched from Penugonda, Gajuwaka or Gurazala, and its schedule will be finalized in the meeting on Saturday.
Several leaders including Nellore district's Venkatagiri's Municipal Chairperson Dontu Sarada and Palakollu former MLA Dr Babji joined the party on Tuesday. Speaking to the media on the occasion, they said that in the present situation Y S Jaganmohan Reddy becoming the Chief Minister was much-needed for the State.
