YSRCP MLAs To Enter Assembly Wearing Black On Saturday
Hyderabad | 18th March 2016
YSR Congress Party MLA R K Roja today strongly criticized the TDP government for not allowing her inside the Andhra Pradesh Assembly in spite of the High Court's order.
"The Speaker says the House has greater authority than the courts. So if tomorrow the Assembly passes a resolution giving me capital punishment, will it will be implemented?" she asked.
Roja was speaking to the media after submitting a memorandum to the secretary of the Governor.
She said, "Today is a black day. We have already submitted a copy of the High Court order to the Legislature Secretary, and have also informed him that I would attend the session. The Legislature Secretary acknowledged the letter. But Chief Marshal Ganesh Babu, who works like a TDP agent, asked his subordinates not to allow me inside the Assembly," Roja said.
"In spite of our telling that we have High Court orders, the marshals have not allowed me," she said, and asked, "How can minister Kishore Babu sit in the Assembly after his son openly tried to drag a woman into his car? How can a rowdysheeter like Chintamaneni Prabhakar enter the Assembly after battering a woman MRO, an SI and a forest official? Can Buddha Venkanna, an accused in the call money sex racket, sit in the Council?"
She also alleged that Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu were playing politics by not allowing her to step inside the Assembly.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP MLAs have decided to protest their party colleague not being allowed into the Assembly by wearing black clothes on Saturday. A meeting was held by party president Jagan at his residence and a decision to this effect was taken.
They said that Roja would also enter the Assembly along with the Party MLAs.
