High Drama At AP Assembly As Roja Enters House
Even as the firebrand MLA said that she would make it to the Assembly for the Budget session, the TDP members declared that they would not allow her to.
High drama and tension prevailed on the Andhra Pradesh Assembly premises on Thursday after the Hyderabad High Court temporarily set aside the Speaker's order disallowing YSR Congress Party legislator R K Roja for one year from attending the House.
Even as the firebrand MLA told the media that she would make it to the Assembly for the Budget session after the judicial relief, the ruling Party members declared that they would not allow the former into the premises.
Angered by that, the YSRCP members vowed to take on the might of the ruling Party for "violating the Constitution and democratic norms". The YSRCP tried its best to corner the ruling Party for trying to prevent Roja from attending the Assembly. This resulted in a chaotic situation, and the officials deployed women security marshals at the Assembly.
The photographers and videographers on duty at the Assembly were also seen jostling with each other at the entrance and inside the Assembly when Roja made an entry.
After handing over a copy of the HC order to Legislature secretary Satyanarayana in his chambers, Roja told the media that she had great respect for the judiciary and that justice was done.
"I will attend the Budget session from March 18, and will ask the Speaker to give me a chance to speak during the zero hour," an elated Roja asserted.
