The Puducherry police, on Friday, arrested 4 more persons in connection with the recent violence at Yanam town, which had led to the killing of a senior executive of Regency Ceramics and caused huge damage to the company's plant.
The arrested accused persons were identified as Yandamuri Hanumantha Rao, Yerragunta Suryanarayana, Mohammed Khan and Meda Venkatesh.
They were later produced before the Yanam sub-court, which remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
Earlier, 5 persons were arrested by the Puducherry police in connection with the violence.
Stating that the situation in the town was returning to normal, Deputy Inspector General of Puducherry I D Sukla said the police have formed special teams to arrest some more persons who were involved in the violence.
He said that 2 companies of the state police have been deployed in the town as a precautionary measure. (INN)
