Brother of former Chief Minister, the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and MLC Y S Vivekananda Reddy on Wednesday offered floral tributes to YSR's statue at Punjagutta flyover in the city, immediately after taking Oath Of Office And Secrecy as a minister in the cabinet of N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
YSV drove down to the statue and offered floral tributes to his brother, and observed a few minute's silence.
Talking to the waiting media persons later, YSV reiterated his earlier oath that he would remain loyal to the Congress party, and serve selflessly to protect the interests of people.
The MLC had earlier made his way to New Delhi where he camped and lobbied for a ministerial berth in the new cabinet. He had also publicly stated that he would try and bring about a rapprochement between his nephew and Congress president Sonia Gandhi by making Y S Jaganmohan Reddy apologise to her.
Jaganmohan Reddy had, however, preempted this move by resigning from the Congress party, saying that the luring of his uncle with a ministerial post as a bait was an attempt to split his family.
