YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday filed a writ petition in the Supreme court, challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court's
order permitting a CBI inquiry into his assets.
Jagan appealed to the Apex court for a stay on the High Court's orders.
The AP High court, acting on separate petitions filed by Textiles Minister Dr. P Shankar Rao and TDP leader K Yerran Naidu and others, had recently ordered a full-fledged CBI inquiry into alleged illegal wealth amassed by Jagan.
The YSR Congress chief accused the ruling Congress and the Telugu Desam parties of intimidating and harassing him.
Jagan on Monday alleged that the Congress party was targeting him because he left the party, and said that his father's (YSR) character was also being maligned notwithstanding his untimely death.
Jagan had also criticised TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, seeking to know how he was seeking an inquiry by a body he had once called the Congress Bureau Of Investigation.
The Supreme Court is yet to give a date for a hearing of Jagan's petition. (INN)
