The state High Court, on Friday, extended the CBI custody of YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested in connection with the disproportionate assets case, for another 2 days, from 9 to 10 June.
The courts took this decision after hearing arguments and counter-arguments over his custody, and concurred with the CBI's argument of extending his custody for completing the investigation.
The court, while extending the custody till 10 June, directed the CBI to question him in the presence of 2 lawyers, and not to use any third degree methods to extract information from him.
Earlier, the CBI had requested the court to extend its custody of Jagan by 3 days. The CBI counsel stated that Jagan was not cooperating with the agency in the investigations, and that it was yet to get vital clues from him in connection with the assets case. (INN)
