Works On New Secretariat Will Begin Soon: Tummala
Telangana Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao informed that the state had already sanctioned Rs 150 crores for the new Secretariat building.
Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao on Thursday informed that the design of the new Secretariat building for Telangana was being prepared and that works would begin soon.
Addressing a press conference at the state Secretariat, the minister said that the R&B department had been assigned the job of the preparation of the design for the new Secretariat, and that the same would be presented to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for final approval.
Nageshwara Rao informed that the state government had already sanctioned Rs 150 crores for the new Secretariat building.
Rao also briefed about the interactions that he had had with union minister Nitin Gadkari during the latter's visit to the state on Wednesday.
Rao said that the Centre had directed the Telangana government to identify land for 1,080 kilometres of highways. Similarly, he said that four existing highways would also be upgraded.
Rao said that proposals had also been sought for the development of inland waterways, which include the Basar to Chennai Godavari river route.
The minister said that the Telangana government was giving to priority to the establishment of dry ports, and that the Centre had assured complete support for the same. (INN)
