Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy ruled out transferring the Mohammed Nayeemuddin case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
"There is no need to hand over the Nayeem probe to the CBI as the Telangana Police is capable of handling it on their own," he said, and added that the police would bring all the accused to justice. This statement follows after the Opposition repeatedly pressed the State government on transferring the case from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the CBI, citing police incompetence.
Speaking to the media in Medak town during a meeting with police officials, the Minister said that the State government was providing the best possible infrastructure to the Police and help them work in an uber-modern environ. "With modern tech at their disposal, a superior logistics team, and a highly-trained investigation unit (SIT), the Telangana Police is more than capable of closing the case," Reddy opined.
Further, he said that an estimated Rs. 8 crores would be spent on the construction of each of the new police stations granted during the formation of new districts. He said that an additional Rs. 7 crores would be granted to restore some of the older police stations across Telangana. The new, ultramodern police stations would have fitness centres and rest rooms for all staff members regardless of rank.
Deputy Speaker of State Assembly M Padmadevandar Reddy urged the Home Minister to establish a separate She police station in the district headquarters by appointing sufficient women cadre.
