Under the leadership of TPCC Women's Congress President Sunitha Rao, women activists of the Congress today burned an effigy of BRS leader K T Rama Rao near Gandhi Bhavan at Nampally.
This protest was in response to allegedly inappropriate comments made by KTR against women.
The women Congress members expressed their outrage through a symbolic burning of KTR's effigy, and vowed to continue their protests until their demands were met.
Addressing the protesters, Rao said, "It is unacceptable to make derogatory comments about women, and we will not tolerate it any further. KTR must apologize immediately. If he doesn't mend his ways, he will face severe backlash."
She further warned that if such behaviour continued, the BRS could face dire consequences, including defeats in the upcoming local body elections.
